Shuttle Diplomacy Talks: Modern Diplomacy in a Multipolar World: Pakistan’s Perspective

On Thursday, December 18, 2025, the Balkan Studies Center (BSC), in cooperation with the Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) study program, organized a Shuttle Diplomacy Talks event titled “Modern Diplomacy in a Multipolar World: Pakistan’s Perspective.” The guest speaker was H.E. Syed Qaiser Abbas Shah, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his address, Ambassador Syed Qaiser Abbas emphasized the strong and friendly relations between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlining Pakistan’s consistent support for Bosnia during the 1990s war and its firm backing of the Srebrenica Resolution. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to justice, remembrance, and solidarity with the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ambassador also highlighted Pakistan’s strategic geopolitical position, situated at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, which gives the country an important role in today’s multipolar international system.

Focusing on modern diplomacy, Ambassador Syed Qaiser Abbas explained Pakistan’s balanced and multi-directional foreign policy, noting its constructive and cooperative relations with major global and regional powers, including China, Iran, Russia, and the United States. He stressed that Pakistan’s diplomatic approach is based on dialogue, pragmatism, and regional stability.

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to engage directly with the Ambassador. The program was well received and contributed meaningfully to discussions on global diplomacy and multipolarity, reaffirming BSC’s role as a platform for academic and diplomatic dialogue.
